PAT PARISE
Bandleader, Bass, Vocals
Pat can
remember one
summer day when he was about 10 years old. "When I came in from
playing, my father introduced me to this man. I can still remember this
cool looking guy standing there with this red guitar. I looked at him
as he put his hand out to shake mine. "What's happening my man, I
understand you want to play the guitar." His name was Rich Serota. He
went on to play ‘I want to hold your hand’ by the
Beatles.
I was floored, and from that day on, my life has been surrounded by
music.”
When I
was in high school I was in a band with my cousins and a couple of
friends. Although our bass player wasn't very good, he was one of my
best friends, so I would play bass notes on my guitar, while he sang.
He eventually quit, and I became the bass player".
Pat has played bass for various
club bands over the years, and worked with some
of the finest musicians in the area. "I love all types of music, from
Rock, R&B, Motown, Jazz, Latin, etc. and have been influenced
by the likes
of James Jamerson, Paul McCartney , John Paul Jones, Jaco Pastorius,
Rocco
Prestia, just to name a few, there are so many. “To me, it
really doesn't
matter who the artist is, if it sounds good, and moves you, that's what
its
about.”
Pat is
the founder of The FM Band and is excited to be with a band that can
play all types of music, do it well, and have fun at the same time. "I
really think we have something special here." So if you like funk,
dance, or just want to tap your feet to the groove being laid down,
then check out the definitive, versatile sounds of one of the most
respected bass players in the area.
